Hazrat Sahal bin Abdullah Tastari رحمه الله advised; “Tawbah is compulsory on every person, whether he is of the elite (i.e. the Awliyaa and pious Ulama) or of the laypeople or whether he is a sinner or an obedient person.”

REFLECTIONS
Sin never leads to the proximity of Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله. Sins lead to the wrath and punishment of Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله. The Awliyaa considered even their acts of obedience as ‘sinful’ – we cannot justify any sin nor should we ever have any intention to sin. We should always be fearful of the punishment of Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله. However, we are weak and in moments of weakness and negligence, we succumb to the temptations of the Nafs and slip into sin. But we should never postpone Tawbah; immediately express regret and remorse for our shortcomings and repent unto Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله.
