A person by the name of Asad Ali says; “I was looking for a Sheikh, and I did not leave a single town or village except that I hunted for a person who would guide me. I travelled from Bengal to Madras and from Punjab to Bombay in search of a guide to take me on this path. In this search, I met a number of Mashā’ikh but I could not find the qualities I was searching for; i.e. perfection in following the Sunnah of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم. Eventually, I became despondent and was returning home when I stopped at Muzaffarnagar. It so happened that on the train someone was talking in praise of Hazrat Moulana Rasheed Ahmad Gangohi رحمه الله, so I thought to myself what is the harm in stopping over in Gangoh and meeting Hazrat Moulana. On my first meeting, my heart was overjoyed, as I could now see hope for myself. What I was looking for in a Sheikh I found the level of perfection in Hazrat Moulana and that was the emulation of the Sunnah in every aspect of his life. I immediately requested Hazrat Moulana for bay’ah and since then I have never looked back.”
