Hazrat Anas رضي الله عنه narrates that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم said; “A person will acquire high stages in Jannah for possessing good character, even though he did not really exert himself in worship.” (Makārimul Akhlāq Lil Khara’itī / Ithāf, Vol 7, Page 324)
Hazrat Anas رضي الله عنه narrates that even though a person did not exert himself in devotion, he will attain the high stages of the Hereafter due to good character. Similarly, a person will enter the pits of Jahannum due to bad character. (Makārimul Akhlāq Lil Khara’itī / Ithāf, Vol 7, Page 324)
Note: Hazrat Junaid Baghdādī رحمه الله said that four characteristics ensure that a person will receive high stages in Jannah, even though his actions are not really significant:
▪ Forbearance
▪ Generosity
▪ Humility
▪ Sublime Character
(Ithāf, Vol 7, Page 425)
