Epiphanies and Inspiration

Hazrat Muhammad bin Ka’b رحمه الله, one of the great Taabi’een, used to say: “Whoever recites the Qur’ān will definitely be blessed with intelligence, even if he is already 100 years old”.

He had a special affinity for reciting the Qur’ān and contemplating the meanings. One night he started reciting Surah Zilzaal and Surah Qaari’ah. He kept on reciting these 2 surahs the entire night while pondering over their meaning, until the morning.
He would say: “The various meanings of the verses of Qur’ān open up to me so much that the entire night goes by and the epiphanies and inspiration (of the various possible meanings) do not come to an end”.

Note: The Qur’ān is a vast ocean full of priceless gems. Each person who dives into the depths of this ocean will find new and unique pearls. Those fortunate souls who engage in their spiritual reformation and drown themselves in the Qur’ān will find that new doors of knowledge and understanding will keep opening up for them, and this will never stop.
