Hakeemul Ummah Hazrat Moulana Ashraf Ali Thaanwi Sahib رحمه الله has advised that the management of the Madrasah (the Principal and Teachers) should regard their positions as Haqqullāh (the Right of Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله). They should fulfil their obligations with absolute sincerity (khuloos). Khuloos comprises of two constituents; Zaahiri (the outward form) and Baatini (the Soul).
Considering oneself as the slave (عبد) and Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله as the Maulā (Master) is the Baatini dimension of Khuloos (sincerity). The Zaahiri form is to understand that you are a Mahkoom (subject), not a Hākim (ruler). You should not adopt any such designation (or attitude) which conveys an elevated status or superiority. Nowadays, the insanity of leadership has settled in the minds of people and lofty titles are fabricated.
