The culture of turning to Aamils has unfortunately become increasingly common. For every small worry, people rush to them for solutions.
A reliable Aamil who is actually good at treating Jinn, Sihr, Nazr etc. is extremely difficult to find. More often than not, those claiming to be Aamils are bogus, and bring more harm than solutions. Harken! Someone who does any action contrary to Shariah (irrespective of how seemingly insignificant it may be), can never assist with these mystic occurrences Some so-called Aamils prescribe practices such as sacrifices to Jinnaat, spilling blood in the home, chanting to the dead, or spending nights in graveyards. These are baseless, and in many cases outright Haraam. Tragically, countless innocent patients have been swindled out of thousands of rands, often under the deceptive phrase: “No charge. You can give whatever you want.”
This is deeply disturbing, especially since such practices are futile. The solutions we truly need are already within our reach. Simple, authentic actions—reciting Qur’an, reading Manzil, practicing Sunnah duas, and maintaining cleanliness—provide all the protection we require, without the burden of finding a “genuine” Aamil.
Just as we go to great lengths to secure our families’ physical safety, it is of utmost importance that we implement within our homes, those actions which will fortify our spiritual well-being.
Below are practical steps to fortify our homes and relationships against unseen evils:
- Reciting Dua Before Intercourse
Before intercourse with your spouse, make sure to read the Dua;
In the name of Allah. O Allah! Keep Shaytaan far from us, and keep him far from that which you bless us with.
When this dua is recited, Shaytaan cannot influence a child conceived from that union. [Bukhari:6388]
- Reciting Ayatul Kursi Before Bed
Whoever recites Ayatul Kursi before retiring to bed, will be guarded by Allah Ta’ala and no Shaytaan will approach him throughout the night. [1] [Bukhari:2311]
- Reciting The Kalimah One Hundred Times
If one recites لَا إلَاهَ إلَّا اللهُ one hundred times after Fajr Salaah, he will be protected from Shaytaan until the evening. He will also have made for himself a sanctuary against all evil and harm. Alternatively, one could recite the fourth Kalima ten times. [2]
- Morning and Evening Protection
Reciting this in the morning and evening protects against Shayateen, evil Jinn, black magic, and general harm. Reports mention protection from severe sihr which had the power of turning one into a donkey, Ifreet Jinn, fevers, and even snake or scorpion bites. [Muwatta Malik, Abu Dawood, Tirmidhi]. [3]
- Quraan Tilawah in The Home
Make Qur’an recitation a family activity. Start small—just five minutes daily. Gather everyone in one room and read aloud together. Treat it as a team-building exercise, a beam of light in our lives. Over time, include Taleem of Ahadith, stories of the Sahabah, and discussions on basic Masa’il. Many families have begun daily Quran time, and the impact is extraordinary.
- Reciting Manzil Daily
Manzil is one of the most powerful forms of Ruqya. Recite it regularly, blow on your little ones and teach it to your children. Use it for protection of your home and belongings. Encourage mothers and sisters to recite it daily, especially during pregnancy.
Many families have witnessed remarkable benefits: protection from the evil eye, relief from night terrors, calming tantrums, and much more—all through the blessings of Manzil.
To be continued Inshallah.
