It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood رضی الله عنه that,
“Whoever reads the following Dua when the food is placed (on the Dastarkhaan), that food will not harm him.”
بِسْمِ اللهِ خَيْرِالْأَسْمَاءِ، للهِ مَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَفِي السَّمَاءِ، لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ دَاءٌ، اَللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ فِيْهِ بَرَكَةً وَعَافِيَةً وَشِفَاءً
“In the name of Allah which is the best of names, for Allah is what is in the earth and the sky ,with his name no sickness can harm, O Allah make it a means of blessings, wellness and cure.”
عن عتريس بن عرقوب، قال: قال عبد الله: من قال حين يوضع طعامه: بسم الله خير الأسماء، لله ما في الأرض وفي السماء، لا يضر مع اسمه داء، اللهم اجعل فيه بركة وعافية وشفاء، فلا يضره ذلك الطعام ما كان (مصنف ابن أبی شیبة الرقم 24988 )
