Hajj Advices (Part 3)

Visiting Makkah Mukarramah
  • Try to come to the Masjidul Haram a bit earlier to gain strength. Even if you can’t do much Ibadah just look at Baytullah. There is great reward in this.

Hazrat Abdullah ibn Abbas  narrates that Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “Allah Ta’ala descends 120 mercies daily. Sixty from them for those making tawaaf, forty for those sitting around the Kabah and twenty of them for those looking at the Kabah.
  • When seeing the Kabah, make Dua Allah Ta’ala accepts all of your Duas.
  • Tolerate all the shoving and pushing around you. Don’t speak impolitely or get frustrated by it.
  • Don’t touch any ladies and ensure that you don’t rub shoulders with any of them.
Hazrat Abu Umaamah رضي الله عنه reports that Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “abstain from being in seclusion with women. By the qasam if that being in whose control lies my life, no mn secludes himself with a strange woman but shaitaan joins them. And it is better for a person to touch a swine which is messed in mud than to allow his shoulder to touch the shoulder of a strange woman (in a crowd).” (Hijaab in the Light of the Quran and Sunnah pg.76)
  • It is absolutely necessary for the husband to make sure that his wife is protected in the huge crowds.
  • Spend as much time as possible in Masjidul Haraam.
  • Recite the third Kalimah when making tawaaf. You may read other Duas as well.
Hazrat Abu Hurairah reports that he heard Rasulullah mention, “The one performing seven rounds tawaaf of the Baytullah should not speak, unless it is to recite (the following):
Glory be to Allah, and all praise is due to Allah, and there is none worthy of worship besides Allah, and Allah is the greatest, and there is no power (to refrain from sin) and no ability (to carry out righteous actions) except through Allah.
Hazrat Abu Hurairah then said, “(When one performing tawaaf recites this,) then ten of his sins are erased, ten good deeds are recorded for him, and through reciting these words, his rank is raised by ten stages.” (Hajj the fifth pillar of Islam pg.117)
  • Make Tawaf on your own and don’t join a group.
  • Don’t be miserly with regards to the institution of Dua
  • When leaving, then stand directly in line with the Mizabe Rahmah, face the Kabah and recite the following Ayat, In Sha Allah, Allah Ta’ala will bring you back to the blessed lands quickly.

Verily, the One who has made the Quran obligatory on you shall return you to your place of return (Makkah Mukarramah and Jannah). (Surah Qasas: 85)

  • You may recite the Munajate Maqool during Saee.
